South Lyon Medical Center Located in Yerington, the South Lyon Medical Center offers 24 hour emergency care with a skilled nursing facility, specialty consultant physicians and hospital services. A newly opened 59 bed long-term care facility is available. The non-profit corporation has been serving its community for over 40 years and is at the point where its walk-in services rival the largest hospitals.
Carson-Tahoe Hospital* Carson-Tahoe Hospital is a public not-for-profit community hospital that began serving the Carson City health care needs in 1949. The hospital includes Behavioral Health Services, an inpatient Psychiatric and Addictive Disorder Center, Carson Rehabilitation Center and a satellite facility in Douglas County; the Minden Medical Center. The hospital is located at 775 Fleischmann Way in Carson City and has 128 beds with an active medical staff of more than 120 physicians. Carson-Tahoe Hospital has recently completed major renovations to its obstetrics and pediatric wing along with the surgery unit. Other services offered by Carson-Tahoe Hospital include nutrition counseling, CPR and Wellness Programs, home health and hospice services, rehabilitation and physical therapy, a cardiac catherization center, an ambulatory infusion center, oncology, and a 24-hour emergency service. Carson-Tahoe Hospital's Behavioral Health Services* Carson-Tahoe Hospital's Behavioral Health Services has 28 beds dedicated to psychological and emotional distress and addictive disorders. The main center for Behavioral Health Services is located at the intersection of William and Minnesota streets. Other outpatient locations are at 1177 N. Division St. and 1276 Pit Road in Gardnerville. The Behavioral Health Service Center's phone number is 885-4460, with a 24-hour hot line number of 800-263-7671. The Carson Rehabilitation Center, located at 900 E. Long St., is adjacent to the Senior Citizens Center in Carson City. It has 30 beds available for physical, occupational and speech therapy for inpatient and outpatient care. The Carson Rehabilitation Center's phone number is (775)881-7000.
Minden Medical Center Designed to house a wide range of medial specialties, the Center brought together many of the area's most respected physicians to provide a host of new services to Douglas County in one convenient location. Equipped with the latest technology, the Center is hardly a typical rural operation. In addition to urgent care services, it also provides physicians who are trained in diverse fields - all located at the Center - for the convenience of the residents of the Carson Valley.
Barton HealthCare System With 40 years of growth and development, Barton Memorial Hospital has seen many changes. We have opened and closed urgent care clinics, expanded into the Carson Valley and ski resorts, opened a Community Clinic and Skilled Nursing Facility and created family and primary care physician groups. Barton Memorial Hospital is now one component of the larger Barton HealthCare System. The Barton HealthCare System is continuously expanding services, purchasing new equipment and providing the community with the best in medical care. Carson Valley Medical Center Carson Valley Medical Center's active medical staff includes specialists in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Radiology and Pediatrics. In addition, our medical staff physicians are also supported by a full complement of consultants, including cardiology, ear nose and throat specialists, neurology, pulmonology, podiatry and oncology. Many surgical specialists are on the staff of our Ambulatory Surgery Center. Finally, as most of you already know, CVMC provides 24-hour emergency care service with helicopter transfer as needed by CareFlight.

Western Nevada College Western Nevada College is a comprehensive community college which serves more than 6,000 students each semester within an 18,000-square-mile service area. One of four community colleges within the University and Community College System of Nevada, it is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and of Colleges and Universities.
The college offers some 50 academic degrees and certificates in areas as diverse as engineering and construction technology, nursing, musical theatre, golf facilities management, geographic information systems, criminal justice and graphic design. Students may also complete up to two years of many baccalaureate degree programs, such as teacher preparation, for transfer to a university.
In response to industry needs, the college designs specialized training programs in machine tool, drafting, electronics, computing and other occupational areas. Customization often includes providing specialized instruction at the times and locations most convenient to employers, including on-site programs. Recent training programs conducted for area businesses have included welding certification, math, English, supervisory training, and computer applications.
University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) U.S. News & World Report ranked UNR as one of America's best colleges and the Carnegie Foundation ranks UNR in the highest research category with institutions like Stanford, Harvard, Cal-Berkley, and UCLA. UNR provides a variety of programs including 70 bachelor's degrees, 70 master's programs, and 30 doctoral specialties. University of Phoenix, Nevada Campus The University of Phoenix is a private, for-profit higher education institution whose mission is to provide high quality education to working adult students. The University of Phoenix, Nevada Campus offers degree and certificate programs in Administration, Business, Counseling, Education, Human Services, Management, Nursing/Healthcare, and Technology. Courses are scheduled to meet the needs of working students.
Lake Tahoe Community College Located in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., offers the first two years of a four-year degree, 38 different associate's degrees and 20 certificates. LTCC is one of 109 community colleges in the state of California. Students at LTCC enjoy small class sizes averaging 15 students per class and quality one-on-one instruction. The college offers a good neighbor policy for Nevada residents and tuition is only $28 a unit.

Lyon County Museum Originally constructed in the town of Mason, the old church building now exhibits room settings with a turn of the century kitchen, child's bedroom, sheriff's office, and the Anaconda Copper room. Several out buildings include the General Store, natural history display, blacksmith shop, and a one room school house.
Jeanne Dini Yerington Cultural Center This newly renovated 1912 historic Yerington Grammar School No. 9 is home of the 210 seat Jeanne Dini Performing Arts Center which is equipped with state of the art lighting and sound systems.
Dayton Valley Country Club An 18 hole Arnold Palmer designed course in the Sierra foothills. Opened in 1991 and already ranks sixth on Golf Today's list of Top 20 daily fee courses for Northern California and Nevada. Dayton Valley presents a challenging and enjoyable experience for golfers of all abilities.
Mason Valley Country Club The original 9-hole layout has recently been expanded to 18, with a challenging, yet rewarding series of new fairways.
Desert Lakes Golf Course 18 holes of first-class golf, with names like "The Hangin' Tree", and "The Smokin' Gun."
Lake Lahontan State Park Boating, jet skiing, water skiing, fishing for white bass, walleye and catfish, camping and picnicking abound at this versatile recreation area.
Dayton State Park & Carson River Picnicking, hiking, and wildlife viewing in and around Nevada's first settlement.
Mason Valley Wildlife Management Area Home to trout & bass fishing, as well as duck, goose and deer hunting and wildlife viewing opportunities in the heart of beautiful Mason Valley. The Nevada Dept. of Wildlife operates a fish hatchery here where fish are raised to stock waters all over the state. Tours are available.
The Reno-Fernley Raceway A 500 acre facility in Fernley Nevada, designed specifically for family recreation and participation in motor sport activities of many venues.
Walker River, East & West Forks Trout fishing and wildlife viewing in some of the most scenic areas of the state, including Wilson Canyon with its majestic rock walls & quiet fishing holes.
Wilson Canyon Located between Yerington and Smith Valley, visitors are able to hike through a canyon cut by the West Walker River over millions of years.
